Match report A perfectly judged run chase meant that ASP recorded their first league win of the season against the team that finished above them last season. Winning the toss john Yates inserted Aythorpe and Matt King and Ben Sapsford bowled their ten overs straight through with no luck as Aythorpe reached 71 without loss after 20 overs. After Hampton dismissed Reynolds, Culleton came in and smashed 69, being particularly severe on Hampton who seven overs went for 63. Farr and Culleton got the score up to 170-1 before Strange dismissed them both. Graham hit a few lusty blows before being caught off Strange. Strange then bowled a quadruple wicket maiden which included his first ever hat trick to leave Aythorpe on 230-9.

In reply ASP raced to 40 off 4 overs with Booth being severe on E Reeve whose two overs cost 27. Booth was first to go with 52 with the score at 95 in the 16th over. Strange continued on his merry way before being bowled for 81. Groom, Yates and Wisson soon followed to leave ASP struggling on 183-5 . Matt King and Ben Sapsford kept the score board ticking over before Sapsford belted 18 of a G Reeve over to alleviate the pressure. This meant that they could play Culleton out at the other end and a huge straight six from King won the game for ASP with 8 balls to spare.
