Match report In a close match which shouldn't have been that close, ASP won in the last over by 3 wickets. Strange won the toss and inserted Hatfield Heath on their newly relaid square, but after 4 overs they were 25-0 and flying. However Thompson removed two batsmen quickly and after 10 overs they were 45-2. Thompson and Strange then applied a stranglehold on the innings and after 20 overs the Heath had crawled to 59-4. Thompson bowled an exceptional spell finishing with 4-16 off his 10 overs. Strange bowled his spell tightly, finishing with 10-5-12-0. Sapsford came out and bowled Yates first ball, ad continually beat the bat in his spell of 3-24. HH consolidated and threw the bat at the end but only finished with 139-9. In reply Strange and Thompson put on their second consecutive 50 partnership in the league, before Thompson was stumped. Strange and Groom batted on before Strange was superbly caught for 45. Edwards and Groom got ASP to 114-2 with 10 overs to go, before a collapse meant that in the end ASP needed 4 off the last over with 3 wickets left. Sapsford came to the rescue, hitting 2 fours to seal victory. HH quoted on their website "a number of questionable decisions(the vast majority of which were out) went against us", maybe they need to read the LBW law a bit mopre closely, especially the part about being hit in line if you are playing a shot, just because you appeal 50 times a game, it doesn't mean they are out.
