Match report ASPs went down to a disappointing defeat against a pleasantly cheerful Ardleigh Green side.

A very good bowling and fielding display, of which the highlights were Lew Robbos (8-0-19-2) and Ben Surreys (8-1-36-3) bowling displays and notable fielding efforts from Alex Cassels and Neil “Stumper” Curtis (4 dismissals), was let down by an abject batting display.

At half time chasing 171 off 40 overs, ASPs thought they were in with a great chance but after being reduced to something silly like 60-6 hopes of a victory faded. The only top order contribution of note being Clarkes 23. Late order contributions from Albon (a career high 27) and Bear (23*) led to some respectability, and a total of 114 all out.

Credit to Ardleigh Green who despite a fair trek home on a Sunday night stayed until the Fox kicked us all out at 8.30. Fair play to you all.
