Match report A slightly chiilier day welcomed ASP to Chrishall, and with BC losing the toss and being put into the field, he and Wardy opened the bowling. Wardy got a bit of tap from the opener, but BC soon found his range and dismissed 3 batsmen in his 8 over spell. Ward exacted his revenge on the other opener by pinning him LBW, and Chrishall were in a bit of trouble at 68-5. After a nervy start the number 7 hit some lusty blows before the wiles of Strange did for him as he tried to slog a straight one and was trapped LBW. Strange bagged a couple more, before Albie Gifford on debut, after already taking a skyer earlier, bowled the number 11 with his 4th ball. After our second sumptuous tea of the weekend, Clifton and Devonshire went out to face the music, and tickled along nicely before Devonshire was undone by a lack of bounce and was bowled for 24. Grace came and went quickly before Josh Gleeson and Clifton kept the board ticking over. Clifton top edged a full toss to deep fine leg and Curtis edged behind to leave ASP wobbling a little, but first with Gleeson and then with Baxter, the skipper saw us home, even clubbing a massive six over the school to rub salt into the wounds, with 7.3 overs to spare. A good performance against a much improved Chrishall side.
