Match report On a lovely afternoon ASP travelled to the picturesque village of Guilden Morden, or so it seemed on first impression. Winning the toss, BC inserted Morden who lost a couple of early wickets to BC himself, before a ruddy faced farmer type started whacking everybody everywhere, helping himself to a hundred and, obviously not realising it was a Sunday friendly, pressed on to 149 before being caught. No one else really pushed on after this and Morden finished with 238, after some banter with one of the later batsman who proceeded to offer BC outside after the match!! In reply, Clifton and Bert opened the batting and Bert was bowled early doors, which bought Arthur Newman to the crease, our Cokenach loanee hit some fantastic shots as he and Clifton pressed on and on, bringing up a fine 100 partnership. Newman was unfortunately run out and his younger brother was bowled soon after, Curtis continued his habit of being run out by direct hits from the boundary, and ASP were in some trouble. After a fly by from some local 'characters' Clifton was caught and Baxter bowled for a hard hitting 26, sparking some banter from the same 'character' who offered BC out. In the end, ASP held out for a draw, and packed up quick and got the hell out of Dodge, hopefully never to return to Guilden Morden(twinned with Compton, South LA)
