Match report A blustery day greeted ASP as we made the long trip to 3 Caps. After the previous days monsoon like conditions, a damp wicket greeted us, and the toss looked all important. ASP lost the toss and were inserted into bat, and lost Clifton early caught behind. Jabar and Ward batted nicely before Ward was caught on the boundary for 22. Baxter followed soon after for 3, before Fitzgerald and Jabar embarked on a little stand, before Jabar hit into the wind and was caught on the boundary edge for a brilliant 79. His dismissal prompted a collapse as Fitzgerald, Devonshire and Green all departed in the space of 3 overs, leaving ASP wobbling on 135-7. The old heads of Strange and Albon set to work building a partnership, and put on 48 for the 8th wicket to push ASP up to a below par 184-8. After tea, ASP came out with renewed hope after their recovery, and Surrey bowled one of the openers first ball, and Fitzgerald picked up the dangerous Vaja next over, after being dropped the ball before. After a unsuccessful few overs from Ward, Albon and Strange picked up from where they left off with the bat and shared 7 wickets between them, as ASP picked up wickets at crucial times throughout the 3 Caps innings. It was left to Albon to pick up the last wicket as ASP won by 38 runs to go top of the league!!
