Match report On the hottest Saturday of the year, ASP made the trip to the beautiful ground of Cloghams. With Clifton winning the toss and inserting the home team on what looked like a very dry wicket, Bardell and Dunmow made a steady start against Edwards and Fitzgerald, before the first bowling change bought the first wicket, Surrey with a long hop that Bardell smashed straight down Groom's throat at long on. Soon after Monck was late on a pull shot from another Surrey long hop and spooned it the safe hands of Jabar at square leg, and the number 4 dollied a catch up to cover to leave Cloghams in a spot of bother. Jordan took the important wicket of Dunmow, before the spin twins of Strange and Albon tore the heart out of the Cloghams innings, helped by some seriously good catching from Jabar, Clifton, Edwards and Albon himself, as both Albon and Strange finished with 3 wickets to leave Cloghams 88 all out. After a fine tea, Jabar and Clifton looked to finish the game quickly with Jabar hitting a monstrous six over square leg early on. Clifton, out of character spooned one up to mid off, and with Groom making only 4, and Jabar falling to a stunning catch for 42, ASP were on 63-3, but with Baxter in fine form and Devonshire helping him along before leaving a straight one, ASP soon romped home by 6 wickets in 22 overs. Only negative from the game was Edwards breaking a finger and could miss the rest of the season..
