Match report On a pleasant afternoon at Bengeo, ASP won the toss and inserted Bengeo on what looked a decent track. Edwards got the innings off to a flier by bowling Baker with the first ball of the match, and with Surrey picking up the key wicket of Dellow, and bowling Potter for 2, Bengeo were 23-3 and in the soup. A consolidating stand between Bateman and Ruskin meant that ASP were frustrated in the search for wickets, with dropped catches to the fore again. Ruskin was dismissed and a few late wickets fell with the slog on, and Bateman finished unluckily on 98*. In reply Clifton and Jabar took full toll of some early wayward bowling to rollock along at 6 an over for the first 9 overs, and had got the score to 87 before Jabar deposited a full toss straight down deep square legs throat for 44. Edwards was next man in, and he looked in good touch, as he and Clifton ticked the score over. Edwards was next to go, feathering a catch behind, and Ward soon followed, holing out at long off. Groom kept Clifton company for a while as the run rate crept up and Bengeo thought they had a sniff. Groom was bowled by Walker, but this only paved the way for the big hitting Devonshire to come in and flex his muscles. With some great running and some judicious hitting, ASP waltzed home by 6 wickets with 16 balls to spare with Captain Clifton unbeaten on 61 and Devonshire 20*.
