Match report A fine win for ASPCC, who completed the victory just as the heavens opened. Farnham won the toss and chose to bat as they only had 9 men at the start of the game. Horne was cleaned up by a jaffa from Sapsford in the first over, but then his line and length deserted him and Padgett and Squires took advantage and took Farnham along to 52-1 off 14 overs. Strange came on to bowl and Padgett holed out to mid off straight away, and then had Boatman plum LBW third ball to halt Farnham's progress. Squires was LBW to Thompson before rain forced the teams off for almost a hour. On the resumption the match was reduced to 36 overs a side, but Farnham capitulated to 84 all out in the face of some tight bowling and excellent fielding from ASP. ASP took to the crease with one eye on the weather as the clouds built up around them. Booth fell in the first over for 0, but Williams chanced his arm and he and Strange rattled the score board along at 6 an over. Williams fell for 18, but Groom and Strange took up the reins and sped ASP to victory in 17 overs, and as Groom hit the winning boundary the heavens opened and it would have been very difficult to see how the match would have continued
