Match report Asps produced a good performance on what was a hot day at the green.After losing the toss Asps were put into bat and were soon in tatters at 50-4 when Lindsay 0,Wallace 6,Williams 0 and Devonshire 2 were dismissed by the Hatfield opening bowlers.Potter and Booth pulled things around with some big big hitting until Booth (47) pulled a muscle and was caught in the deep trying to hit out.That left Asps 112-5.Potter was joined by Baxter who had to stay and support Potter who was fast approaching another 50.Baxter went for 11 as Asps got to 150-6 off only 25 overs.Potter started to accelerate more and hit the ball to all parts reaching another hundred with a big 6 but in that time he had lost partners Albon 1 and Pankhurst 7.In came Sapsford who hit a rapid 39 as he and Potter were having a contest of their own in seeing who could hit the ball the furthest and they put on a club record 82 for the 9th wicket.A contest in which Potter won by smashing what was one of the biggest hits he's produced in along time.Asps were going at 7 an over and last man Miles was harshly ran out for 4 leaving Potter on 133 not out and Asps setting Hatfield a daunting 292 to win.
After a cracking tea Albon opened the bowling and was rewarded with 2 quick wickets aswell as Sapsford as Hatfield were reduced to 89-4 off 15 overs.Pankhurst slowed things down with 2-33 including the important wicket of Bergg (91) held by potter in the deep.And the skipper himself took 3-9 leaving himself on a hat trick next week.Dan Wallace won the game when Williams held a good catch close in as Asps won by over 100 runs.
