Match report Asps won a game they looked certain to lose in what was a great match at the green on sunday.After losing the toss Asps were asked to field first and Pankhurst/Lindsay bowled well especially Pankhurst who's 8 overs only went for 13 runs.Albons off spin caused problems and Pallett bowled well too.Potter and Baxter took 3 wickets apiece late on to stop the run rate and close the innings on 189-9.Asps fielding needs to improve as once again too many runs came from miss-fields and dropped catches.....After an awesome tea (yuummmmyy prawns thanks suzie!!!!) Asps set about chasing 189 but were dealt a huge blow when only after 6 overs Asps found themselves 13-4.Booth 0 Wallace 1 Devonshire 0 and Strange 2 were the victims of bad luck and great fielding it must be said.In came the inform Potter and he and Williams tried to make amends but Williams missed a straight one and went for 1 to leave Asps 28-5 and needing a miracle.The miracle arrived in the form of youngster Simon lindsay as he showed patience and intelligence to stay with Potter who was just starting to turn the match around.Lindsay was playing shots all arond the wicket with the inform Potter who was cutting,driving,pulling the ball to all parts of the ground and Potters 50 did'nt take long to arrive.With Chrisall running out of bowling, Potter raced to a deserved 100 with the second 50 only off 17 balls and Asps found themselves on the verge of winning.With only 30 runs needed Lindsay went looking for his maiden 50 but was well caught and bowled for a magnificent 32.Baxter 4 not out stayed with Potter who smashed the winning runs with a huge 6 to give Asps a great win.Potters 125 included 18 fours and 6 sixes off only 65 balls..but well done Si Lindsay because without his patience Potter might not of been able to do what he did.
