Match report A fine win for ASP as we chased 161 down in 34 overs. With our Dutch overseas player in the team we bowled first and Sappo and Miles bowled mean opening spells, but when Bear came into the attack he was clocked for 20 in his first over by Ford(not John!!) before having him snapped up by Steve in his next over. Bart bowled well from the other end and deserved to pick up 2 wickets having Cambs Young Cricketer caught and beating Bartram for pace with a yorker. With 10 overs to go Ashdon were handily placed at 134-5 but wily bowling from Dennis and 3 wickets in 9 balls from Miles wrapped up the innings for 161. In reply Groomie and Bear opened the innings with Groomie looking in supreme touch and Bear looking like he had never batted before. But once these two got in they started putting Ashdon to the sword and with Bear finally finding some form they put on 133 for the opening wicket before Bear was bowled going to a wedding reception. It was left to Potter to wind up their young fast bowler by sticking him in the conifers for 6 and Sappo to hit the winning boundary. Altogether a top performance under the stand-in leadership of Big Steve.
