Match report ASP produced an great perfomance when needed to keep their promotion hopes alive.After losing the toss ASP were asked to bat.Strange and Wissen produced a fine opening stand of 98 in 15 overs.Booth and Strange carried on the the good work with Strange reaching another 50 playing good shots all around the wicket.Booth departed for 17 and Groom came into bat with Strange soaring to another ton.These too were batting well but an 11 ball over saw the dissmisal of strange caught behind for a brilliant 106.This brought in the big hitting Potter who smashed 15 off the first 4 balls he faced as ASP wanted to push the score up to 300.Potter then took on the other bowlers and took Law apart smashing him back over his head and then a huge 6 that sailed over the pavillion into the fields behind.Potter was bowled for 43 off only 23 balls.Groom ended up with 41 as ASP reached 284-6 at tea.
After a fantastic tea ASP opened the bowling with Potter and Thompson.With darkened skies above ASP wanted to get many wickets as possible before the rain came.Lindsay's brilliant work in the field gave ASP their first wicket when his 60 yard throw sailed straight into Booth's gloves for a run out.Thompson bowled Beckley first ball and Potter's off spinner out foxed Oxborrow to leave Hadham 4-3 off 3 overs when the rain came.After a 40 minute wait Asp returned to the field.Potter and Thompson both bowled spin as the wet ground made it difficult to run in.Thompson took 2 in 2 balls and another great run out this time by Spencer left Hadham 29-6.Then it was Potter's turn to join in the fun when he took 2 in an over to leave Hadham 39-8.With the dark sky returning Thompson picked up his fourth and it seemed that a frustrating last wicket stand might see Hadham through to the rain but Potter got one to spin and take out off stump to give ASP a big win. Thmpson took 4-30 and Potter 4-25.
