Aspenden Standon & Puckeridge Sunday XI v Roving Reporters on Sun 05 Jun 2005 at 2.00
Aspenden Standon & Puckeridge Won 5 wickets

Match report ASP pulled off a rare Sunday win under the captaincy of Mark Potter by defeating Roving Reporters by 5 wickets. RR won the toss and batted and Smith got them off to a good start with a quick 46 before being bowled by Mark Pankhurst. Pankhurst also dismissed Loochin and ended up with 2-10 off 7 overs. Clark batted slowly for his 36, just overtaking the overs before he was LBW to Potter. Jenkins batted fluently for 59* as RR closed on 200-4 off 45 overs. In reply ASP lost Sapsford and Rob Devonshire with only 24 on the board before Strange and James Williams put on 54. Williams fell for 30 to bring skipper Potter in, and he and Strange put on 79 before Strange was controversially given out LBW for 58. Groom hit a big six and was then bowled leaving ASP needing 40 to win. Potter and Matt King batted sensibly to give ASP a win with 3 overs to spare, with Potter hitting a big six to finish the match and end up on 72*.
