Match report ASP slid to a 96 run defeat at a strong Enfield Sunday side. Enfield old boy Grant Wisson tossed the coin and ASP were asked to field. Probing spells from Ben Sapsford and Bob Jones kept Enfield's run rate below 3 for the first 10 overs. When Thompson camo on he kept the rate down and took the first wicket, having Burles caught behind by the keeper Booth. Tenneson came in and scored a quick 24 before he was undone by Jones's pace on his return. Plumb reached 69 before giving Strange a return catch. Jones bowled Ligtermoet and Nicholls, and with young Mark Pankhurst having Aussie Bidwell-Brown stumped by the athletic Booth, ASP kept Enfield down to a managable 209-6 when the declaration came. In reply Booth and Strange got off to good start against the pace of Bidwell-Brown and the accuracy of Barnard putting on 62 for the first wicket before Booth was stumped going for a maximum off of Sparrey, Groom soon followed, holing out to mid on before Strange perished trying to push the score along. A middle order collapse was only halted by Ben Sapsford's 21 including a six that nearly went into Mike Gatting's garden!! A quick flurry of hitting by Steve Lindsay was not enough to save ASP from a heavy defeat.
