Match report ASP recorded their 2nd league win of the season on Saturday as they comfortably beat Elsenham by 8 wickets. Winning the toss, John Yates inserted Elsenham and watched Ben Sapsford and Miles Thompson keep things tight in the opening overs. Both Foxwell and Fitzpatrick were dropped before Foxwell was strangled down the legside off the bowling off Thompson. Winsor came in but fell LBW to Arbage's first ball, this bought Edwards to the crease who was dropped on 2 before tucking into some wayward bowling. He and Judd kept the score ticking before Judd pulled a long hop straight to square leg and Edwards was trapped LBW by Strange. From then on Strange, Sapsford and Thompson kept it tight in the closing overs, before Farr and S.Gleeson upped the scoring rate with some good running between the wickets, to enable Elsenham to reach 182-6. In reply ASP got off to a good start with Booth and Strange putting on 47 for the first wicket before Booth was caught at mid on. Groom came in and started to dominate proceedings taking 3 fours off a McArthur over and 3 fours off a Fitzpatrick over. However he was dismissed by Edwards to bring John Yates in, who in partnership with Strange(79*) steered ASP home with 15 balls to spare.
