Match report A comfortable win for ASP was set up by fine bowling from Mark Potter and John Albon and a superb run out by keeper Mathieu Booth. High Beach got off to a decent start and reached 55-2 before Potter and Albon entered the fray. Potter bowled Game with his first delivery and then proceeded to hit the stumps 3 more times in the old fashioned "they miss, you hit" tradition, and with Albon bowling Glasgow and Robin Bear for ducks and Booth running out the dangerous Rod Bear, High Beach slumped to 75-9. A last wicket partnership of 31 between Rooney and Brooks helped the score up to 106 before Thompson came back to clean up Rooney for 27. In reply ASP could afford to take their time, and in the face of good bowling from Rod Bear, that is exactly what they did. Strange was first to go for 4, but then Booth and Simon Groom tucked into some indifferent change bowling before Booth edged a near wide to the keeper for a fine 36. Potter came in and, completing a man of the match performance, hit 3 huge sixes to carry ASP to the brink of victory which Groom secured with the biggest six of the lot. ASP were left to rue the 2 defeats in the previous 2 weeks as their promotion push came to an end with Bishops Stortford winning and securing promotion.
