Match report On a fine summers day, ASP welcomed Bengeo to the green. Bengeo batted first and were soon in trouble at 9-3, with Grey, Bateman and Walker back in the shed. Potter was dropped on 0, and proceeded to edge his way off the mark and into his stride, with patient innings from Ruskin and Dellow helping him along the way, he reached a ton, with two more lives on the way to it. As Bengeo only finished on 215-8, it was lucky he was shelled 3 times. Devonshire picked up 4 wickets opening the bowling, as ASP were missing 40 overs of bowling due to other commitments, and with the mediocre left arm bowling of Surrey going at only 2.4 an over, ASP had more than enough bowling in the end. In reply Jabar was dropped early doors and made Bengeo pay by cruising to 49, before producing a mirror image dismissal to his one at Bengeo, sticking a long hop down someone's throat! Clifton was, well, Clifton as he hung around, and with Humphrey not getting many and Groom bagging a duck, ASP were in a spot of bother, but they say attack is the best form of defence and Jordan started striking the ball to all parts, ensuring Potter gave nearly half his hundred back by launching him into the trees for consecutive maximums! Once Clifton was out it was down to Devonshire and Jordan to bring us home by 6 wickets with 3 overs to spare. A comfortable victory on, according to some, was an absolute pig of a wicket......that had 430 runs scored on it for only the loss of 12 wickets.....make of that what you will.....
