Match report Asps pulled off a fantastic win against the premier division champs Buntingford on what was a fantastic night at the green.After winning the toss Mark Potter choose to field and Sapsford,Pankhurst opened the bowling.Both bowled straight and full and gave the Buntingford batsman hardly any room to play their shots.Sapsford ran out their opener and Baxter came on to take too wickets,both were great catches by acrobatic fielder J.Busby.Buntingfords frustration showed as great Asp fielding denied them hardly any boundries throughout.Chambers was the only real batsman to score runs but at a very slow rate ment Asps did brilliantly to to end buntingfords innings on 111-3 after 16 overs.
Groom and Busby opened the batting for Asps and Busby went early as Asps made a slow start.4-1 off 3 overs.Then Groom opened up and hit some big shots with M.O.M James Williams to set up a fantastic finale.Groom soon went as did Markham to leave Williams and the inform Potter at the crease.With the game nearing a close the pressure seemed to get to Buntingford as they dropped a number of simple catches.Potter was welcomed to the crease with a no ball beamer which he hooked for a massive 6 to settle the Asp nerves.Williams was in top form and found the gaps to set up an easy Asps win.Potter sealed it when he smashed Pearce for 4 to seal a great win for the Asps.Proberly the best allround performance seen for manier year down at the green in Aspenden.Williams finishing on 44 not out and Potter 20 not out...
