Stevenage v Aspenden Standon & Puckeridge Sunday XI on Sun 12 Apr 2015 at 1.30pm
Aspenden Standon & Puckeridge Won by 6 Wickets

Match report On a blustery day in the quaint new town of St.Evenage, ASP embarked on another season that is bound to filled with many highs and lows. After losing the toss, John was asked to field, and with League gun bowler Edwards in the ranks, he wasn't too disappointed, but it was Ward who struck first, dismissing one of the openers LBW. Edwards soon followed with a wicket, caught behind by our ringer Kilbey. Ward picked up another, and Edwards had the number 4 caught at mid off. Pankhurst was introduced into the attack and bowled 4 maidens on the spin, picking up a caught and bowled and another wicket in an impressive display of pace and hostility. Young Surrey bowled superbly well, dismissing the dangerous Northall, and at 64-8 Stevenage looked in the mire, but some clean hitting down the order pushed the score up to 100 before the wily Strange picked up the last wickets to leave ASP needing 101 to win. After a DIY tea, Clifton and Devonshire took centre stage, with runs coming steadily before Devonshire was caught off a full toss for 20. Worby produced a classic Harrow drive before throwing his wicket away, and after Grace had survived 3 LBW shouts, he couldn't avoid the trigger finger of Pankhurst, and he departed for 5. This bought League gun batsman Edwards to the crease after an extensive winters netting and he unfurled a classical extra cover drive early on, as he and Clifton strode towards the target. Unfortunatley Clifton couldn't quite see us over the line, as he was bowled for 41, this left skipper Albon to come in and help us over the line. All in all a steady start for the Sunday XI..
