Match report Asps lost a thriller by 3 runs on a lovely sunny day down at the green.Asps fielded first and a good allround bowling/fielding display restricted Flamstead to 170.Sapsford and baxter bowled tightly and potter took 3 wickes in 6 overs to set Asps 170 to win. A.miles was fantastic in the field stopping many runs and on whole a good fielding performance.
After a fantasic tea Asps went out to bat with Haselden and Wissen.wissen (5) went early so did miles (9) and sapsford (9) soon followed by devonshire (2). Booth and Haselden soon settled things but haseldens injury restricted his shots and he soon was out.This brought in potter who started smashing the ball everyware,placing the ball in the gaps and Asps looked certain to win.potter dented a car with a huge 6 and his 50 was brought up in no time atall.but he went straight after for 62 to leave Asps in a good position only needing 30 runs to win.But regular wickets and some tail order slogging made things tight.baxter finished not out 8 but that was'nt enough as Asps fell just short by 3 runs .
