Aspenden Standon & Puckeridge Saturday League Team v Much Hadham on Sat 30 Apr 2005 at 1.30
Aspenden Standon & Puckeridge Lost 92 runs

Match report ASP slumped to an opening weekend league defeat after a poor bowling performance left them far too many to chase. Missing two bowlers. John Yates won the toss and decided to insert Much Hadham on a dampish wicket. Mark Potter had skipper Nick Miller lbw and bowled Aussie Measley to leave Hadham at 25-2. This was as good as it got for ASP as Keenan and Aussie McNair piled on the runs with Keenan hitting 91 and McNair undefeated on 137*. Another Aussie, Pickhaver hit a flurry of boundaries before being spectacularly caught on the boundary by Simon Lindsay. Potter picked up a couple of late wickets to help out with a couple of bonus points as Hadham reached 311-6. In reply ASP lost Booth for 10 to a sharp turning delivery from Pickhaver before Simon Groom blazed a quick 50 until he fell LBW to Pickhaver. Potter and Strange put on 112 for the 3rd wicket to push ASP through for maximum batting points with Strange finishing on 95*.
